A Marco Update

Its been a busy few months. Firstly in January we changed the brand of flea treatment we were using, big mistake. Unfortunately Marco had a reaction to it which caused him to bite his skin. A lot. This is turn gave him wet eczema symptoms. So that when we took him to the vets. he got shaved. on the base of his tail. he was bald for some weeks. We of course bought him a cone of shame, which really should be outlawed, they are simply ridiculous. He couldn't move freely, eat or drink water with it on. We heard about an inflatable collar, after researching the internet and getting prices (as our vets doesn't sell them) I suddenly had a thought what about other vets?? I was in luck, a local one to my work,  oakhill vets sold one in his size for only  £12. I popped in after work and snatched it up.  I got home and promptly put it on him. He was way happier , we were happier. Win Win. He even slept really well in it (although his snoring got way louder!!) His hair has just finished growing and blending back in.

He has had lots of exciting new walks with us too. He never ceases to amaze me with regards to his inquisitiveness. It knows no bounds. He is however started to calm a little bit. When he is 'allowed' upstairs he no longer behaves like a wound up Tigger. He will gracefully jump on the bed and sit down, unless the cats there, then he will sit and watch him do whatever he happens to be doing.

Marco and Ginger are a right pair too. Ginger recently underwent surgery on his teeth, and since his recovery he has been like a different cat. He is now playful with the dog, he still gets fed up with him and will  hop up over the fence, But still its nice to watch.

Marco is nearly 2 he has only 2 months left until his birthday and seeing how i was a very bad mummy last year and realised I would not be flying back until the day after his birthday. i feel i need to make it up to him this year. Its hard enough knowing we go on holiday with out him. I definitely suffered  from separation anxiety last year. But he's well looked after with the other dogs on the farm.

In the half term i was lucky to have my niece with me for a day. We joined the rest of my family on a day out to a local farm, Marco of course loved having her with us. So much so he sat on her. She is a wee slip of a lass. So she was quite overwhelmed with him. But he just sat/lay there on her happy as a clam.

And of course Marco did lots of his favourite thing....

...Sleeping.
