The other day I was all set to take the dog to the beach it was sunny and mildly not freezing. Off I went for some fuel and then it all disappeared, it rained!! So I thought rather then trekking all the way to the beach, lets take Marco somewhere a little closer. So I thought about it and we ended up at a nearby village, Staveley. Weirdly I pass this village five times a week on the way to work, and not once thought of taking Marco there to walk him.
We soon arrived and started booting (me), and harnessing (him) up. It was a tad windy but the sky had typically come out bright again. We set off. At first Marco had his halti on because those pavements are narrow! Then soon they opened up to views of all the countryside around us ... and a railway track. Marcos first attempt at crossing one was absolutely fine, I on the other hand was the one having a mild panic attack. :) I just don't like them!! as you walk out of the village the path creeps up to advantage point that has a an old iron bench set in a recess of the wall. A bit of a wind shelter, unless your a dog that has to see over the wall. As he placed his paws on the top of the wall to look over you could see the moment he felt the wind gather up and ruffle his ears. he leaned his head back in pure pleasure. so there he was paws on one wall and his head rested back on the other section, tongue lolling out and having a very happy time of it.
After I convinced him to walk on. It was full steam ahead smelling all the greatness of the outdoors. As we walked on past the main road he behaved very well even when the ambulance came speeding past with his lights and siren going.
